Beyond today’s numbers. Are we missing the patient at risk?
Beyond today’s numbers, this presentation explores how measuring Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs) through Skin Autofluorescence (SAF) can complement conventional short-term risk markers by providing insight into long-term cumulative metabolic burden. Evidence shows that SAF predicts cardiovascular, metabolic and renal outcomes and can reclassify patients considered low or intermediate risk. The key question is how to translate this additional information into clinical action: further assessment, different patient pathways and, ultimately, better outcomes and more efficient use of healthcare resources.
