Menopause, kidney disease and CVRM risk
Menopause marks a rise in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic risk, yet it is rarely addressed in women with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This session examines how menopause affects blood pressure, cardiovascular risk and kidney disease, and why CKD should not be a reason to withhold hormone replacement therapy. It reviews the limited evidence, highlights inequities in access, and sets out practical steps for primary care, pharmacy and commissioning.
