Navigating updated NG28 guidelines

This session will provide an authoritative overview of the current NICE recommendations and their practical application in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CVRM) care. We will explore the evidence underpinning recent treatment pathways, including the use of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists, the management of cardiovascular and renal risk, individualised HbA1c targets, and strategies for delivering person-centred care. The session will examine how guideline recommendations can be implemented across primary and specialist care settings to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities. Attendees will gain insight into reasoning behind key recommendations, emerging challenges in diabetes management, and practical approaches to translating evidence into everyday practice for people living with type 2 diabetes.
