Leading diabetes conference rebranded to unite healthcare specialisms

Leading diabetes conference rebranded to unite healthcare specialisms

Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) has relaunched as Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic (CVRM) Professional Care, marking a national rebrand that brings key healthcare specialisms together to drive more integrated care and “improve patient outcomes.”

Building on DPC’s trusted legacy, CloserStill Media is launching the next chapter, with the first CVRM Professional Care conference and exhibition taking place at Olympia, London on October, 20 and 21.

As the NHS shifts towards integrated long-term condition pathways, stronger prevention, earlier intervention and improved population health, CVRM Professional Care reflects the future direction of healthcare.

By addressing diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disease and obesity together, the rebranded event aims to reduce unwarranted variation, close gaps between primary and secondary care and deliver better, person-centred care.

CVRM Professional Care will bring together diabetes, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists in one place, with four high-impact theatres spotlighting:

  • Prevention
  • Innovation
  • Therapeutic advances
  • Integrated care pathways.

The expanded content programme will reflect the real-world complexity of patient care across multiple long-term conditions.

The legacy of DPC remains at the heart of CVRM Professional Care, keeping the same high-quality clinical education, practical evidence-based learning and the same dedicated team shaping the programme with clinicians.

Diabetes remains a core thread, now strengthened by the addition of cardiology, renal and metabolic expertise.

Designed for professionals working across primary, secondary and community care - including consultants, doctors, nurses specialising in diabetes, cardiology and renal, GPs, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, clinical leads, NHS commissioners and registered dietitians - CVRM Professional Care aims to reflect the realities of managing long-term conditions today.

Kevin Fernando, Portfolio GP, NHS Lothian said: “Our patients don't live in silos so our education must not either.

“So, bringing together cardiovascular, kidney, metabolic care, encompassing, of course diabetes and overweight and obesity is the only way forward”.

Harry Norman, Portfolio Director added: “We’re really excited about the evolution of DPC into CVRM Professional Care.

“This is a key step to continue supporting healthcare professionals and the sector as a whole, mirroring the changes in the NHS and to ultimately improve patient outcomes”.
