Dr Jason Cheung is a Consultant Diabetologist and Endocrinologist and Clinical Lead for Inpatient Diabetes Care at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. Jason is a member of the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care (JBDS-IP) committee, a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, and chaired the Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2026. His clinical and academic interests include improving inpatient diabetes safety, quality of care, multidisciplinary working and healthcare outcomes through service improvement, clinical research and education. His inpatient diabetes team received the Royal College of Physicians Excellence in Patient Care Award in 2021. Jason is particularly interested in using hospital admissions as opportunities to identify unmet healthcare needs, optimise the management of multiple long-term conditions, and strengthen continuity of care beyond hospital discharge. Drawing on both his professional expertise and personal lived experience of diabetes, Jason advocates for person-centred, equitable and integrated diabetes care.
